Hi.  I have a Genos but I'm trying to help my brother with his Tyros2 and I need some assistance.

First, can you replace the tyros 2 mf files with tyros 3 or 4 mf files?

Secondly where can I find the step by step instructions to read the music finder files directly off the stick (USB1) ?  From page 172 in the manual it appears you can only append or replace the original files.
I didn’t know how to make this work. 

Any help would be greatly be appreciated.

You should go to the lessons section and read all about the MF's
