Title: Record video with my iPhone
Post by: Jesusote on September 10, 2021, 10:26:46 PM
Hello there.
I want to record myself playing a song with my sx700 with my iPhone X and I’d like to connect the audio output of my sx700 directly to my iPhone because the audio quality of the video recording in my iPhone is not very good.
Please, do you know if I can do it?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Best regards.

I found this adapter.

https://www.headsetbuddy.com/mic-line-line-level-audio-input-adapter-for-iphone-smartphones/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2_n2yfz18gIVATI4Ch1_bwFmEAQYASABEgJaEvD_BwE

According to the description it will replace the mic input for line input for a mixer or in your case the Keyboard.  I don’t know this site or brand but it’s a start.  You could continue searching for such a product.

What's the advantage of the phone recording the audio? Why not record the audio on the keyboard?

If you then want to pair the audio with some video, there are lots of apps that can do that.

Cheers,
Fred

If you are videoing yourself playing live, would separating the audio stream not give synch problems?

Yes, syncing can be an issue. That's why movies use clapboards. You can do the same thing, or just be happy with "close enough".

I've looked at capturing the audio with a device, and it's not easy. I'll be interested if you find a workable solution.

Cheers,
Fred

Final Cut Pro has an audio sync feature.  If you record audio from your mic and from a sound source you can sync the two

Jesusote,

Here's a video showing multiple ways to record on your phone, from Casper TutorSynth.

I think he's covered very well how to go about this!
