Title: Genos speakers (GNSMS01) for Tyros5 ?

Friends,

I have both Genos and Tyros5 keyboards. I purchased  Genos speakers GNSMS01 and can i use these speakers for Tyros 5 ?

I had a Tyros 5 at one time. I believe the speaker connections are different on the Tyros and Genos.

The cables are completely different on Tyros 5.

I think the satellite speakers connections are same.

I have both keyboards. The cable is completely different. I don't tihink you can use the satelites either, because they ara wired differently too.

Hi Sunny,

you cannot use the Genos speakers on a Tyros5, as the cables and also the sockets at the subwoofers of TRS-MS05 and GNS-MS01 are different:

With the TRS-MS05 (and also TRS-MS02 and TRS-MS04) there is an extra (RCA) socket on the subwoofer for the output signal to the Left satellite speaker. In contrast, with the GNS-MS01, all input and output signals to/from the subwoofer go via the 8-pin cable.

Why not use the audio out L L/R connections ( on both boards )  to any set of commercial speakers, you can then simply use with both keyboards or any other keyboard/instrument of your choice. That way you are not limited to have to use matching, dedicated speakers for each keyboard.

I just use a set of logitechs Z623's ( a 2.1 set with 2 speakers and large subwoofer ) both Inexpensive and effective ... or there are lots of other brands out there.

Friends,
Is there any third party modified cable available for using Genos speakers for Tyros 5 ? I think the problem is only with the cable pin connections.
