Title: OTS on SX600
Post by: blackpool on April 15, 2021, 09:55:02 PM
Having used genos / Tyros / SX 700/900 and most PSRs models

I recently bought an SX600 for my holiday home ( nice and compact )

Just an observation here - nice keyboard, but I have a slight issue with it ...

With ALL other models, using OTS with link activated, hold a note and change the OTS and the upper voice setting does not change until you hit the next upper note. ( I find this a VERY handy feature )  Not so with the SX600 in most cases.

Any feedback would be appreciated from other owners of this model.

Thanks - Keith

Hi Keith,

as all other PSR-S/SX models, Tyros models and Genos, there is the parameter "OTS Link Timing" on the SX600 as well.

Please call up "Menu > Style Setting > page 2" and make sure "OTS Link Timing" is set to "Next Bar" (NOT "Real Time"). Press Exit button to automatically save this setting to the System Setup.

I think this should solve your problem. :)

Best regards,
Chris

Thanks very much Chris ...I will change this. It never crossed my mind a change was available as an option, so I never looked into it.
I personally would never think of changing this link timer myself.....

On a similar note ... Given I bought this used, i noticed lots of settings seem to have been changed by the previous owner. which is understandable, maybe including this function.

I did a basic factory restore, when I bought it, but might look at doing a more in depth re-set, just in case there are other functions adrift.

I remember Yamaha technical support talking me through a 'total master reset' over the phone some time ago with another keyboard ( as it was not in the manual ) I will maybe contact them.

Again, thanks for your kind response - Keith
