Hello to all and this certainly seems a friendly place; I 've already posted a tyros 5 Problem and had loads of replies. Thanks everyone and I hope I might be able to offer more positive contributions in future. A Little about me:-
My first experience with Yam was the lovely old DX7(Still going strong) , followed by SY77 then SY99. My last Yamaha board was the 'Classic' Motif before , sorry to offend anyone, switching to Korg and the rather splendid Kronos. I've now got 2 Kronoses (Kroni?) including the rather fine 88 note weighted piano action  Kronos 2 Keyboard. These boards I've used  in a four piece gigging band doing the rounds in pubs and CIU affiliated clubs around Kent, Essex and SE London and for some 30 years had a really great time!
Now, however, retired and well on the wrong side of 70 my band days are over but I still enjoy a bit of home playing and using a computer to delve into the delights of 'sysex conversations' with my boards. Funny how you miss drummers, bass players and, yes, even Guitarists when they're not around anymore though so auto accompaniment calls! I've had a brief skirmish with a Rolland Bk7 module but now I'm getting quite interested in the much more powerful Tyros 5.
I plan to hook it up to a kronos to match its backing capability to first class voices. I also plan to use a foot pedal board, an old unit rescued from from a scrapheap Organ with a bit of simple electronics added allows it to send sysex messages. It works well with the Kronos and should allow foot control of eg Tyros OTS selection and Style control. If anyone else is interested in this sort of this thing I'd be more than happy to get involved.
All the best  to you folk ,keep safe and keep making Music :)
