Title: Connecting a keyboard (piano ) to Sx900
Post by: Janey999 on January 30, 2021, 10:53:51 AM
Hi, apologies if this has been mentioned before but I couldn’t find a post.
I am trying to connect my cp4 stage piano to play through the speakers of sx900, what is the best way? Have tried through input but getting a swooshing noise, does not produce a clear crisp sounds as the cp4 does, shame it doesn’t have a twin L&R inputs

Thank you

Yes but the sound isn’t loud enough to balance out :+(

Hi Janey999,

I don't know which "input" of the SX900 you had tried before (probably the MIC/GUITAR input). Although this should basically work (with correct Gain and Volume settings on BOTH SX900 and CP4), the mic/guitar input is not ideal, especially because this input is not stereo (only mono).

My recommendation: Use the AUX IN socket on the SX900 and the OUTPUT UNBALANCED sockets on the CP4.

You need the following cable: 2 * 6.3 mm mono jack plugs to 3.5 mm stereo mini jack plug:

• Connect the 6.3 mm mono jack plugs to the OUTPUT UNBALANCED sockets of the CP4 (red plug = R, white plug = L/MONO).

• Connect the 3.5 mm stereo mini jack plug to the 3.5 mm AUX IN socket of the SX900.

• On the SX900, open the Mixer display and go to "Panel" tab.

• Touch the right-arrow (below "Panel 1" at the top left) to bring up the "Panel 2" display page. You should see the "AUX IN" Audio Part now. As a precaution, set the AUX IN Volume to zero at this time.

• Set the Master Volume of the CP4 at least to the center position (12 o'clock).

• On the SX900, set the Master Volume to a value that you normally play with (e.g. 10 ... 12 o'clock).

• Play on the CP4 while increasing the AUX IN Volume in the Mixer of the SX900. If the volume is still too low, although the AUX IN Volume on the SX900 is already set relatively high, increase the Master Volume on the CP4.

• The AUX IN Volume is automatically saved to the System Setup of the SX900 when the Mixer display is closed.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Thanks for your feedback, Janey999!

I hope everything works fine now regarding the audio connection between the CP4 and the SX900!

Best regards,
Chris
