*** WORKS ON GENOS, TYROS 5, SX900, S970/975 ***
Hi friends,
I've found a very interesting distortion DSP on my Genos, not good for solo but very powerful for heavy rock / metal crunch chords.
This DSP is called "Jazz Combo Basic", and I want to report a list of settings to configure it to get a very powerful distortion.
1. First select an electric guitar. On Genos I suggest the 60sTexasBlues, on the other arrangers I suggest the CountryPick or also a Jazz Guitar.
2. Go into Voice Edit and change the sound to get it less bright (I have set Cutoff to -34 and Resonance to -64). Set the EQ to flat.
3. Set the Reverb to 4 and chorus from 0 to 22 (the 60sTexasBlues sounds good with chorus to 22).
4. Now go into DSP settings and select the Jazz Combo Basic. Set it with these settings:
- Panning: 5.0
- Volume: 3.3
- Distortion: 10.0
- Bass: 10.0
- Middle: 0.0
- Treble: 3.3
- High Treble: from 5.0 to 10.0
- Output: 49
- Speaker Type: best are BS 4x12, AC 4x10, BC 2x12, AM 4x12
- Mic Position: as you prefer. Some cabinets work good also with "side" setting
- Chorus: Off
- Vib Speed: 0.0
- Depth: 0.0
You can play with the "Treble" setting to change the distortion color, and/or changing the cabinet.
You can also add a second DSP with an EQ in your song channel increasing the 5000 Hz band to add presence.

Hi Francesco,
Could you post a recording of the sound (not necessarily a song) for us to hear?
Thanks,

Excellent work, Francesco! There's no comparison between the before and after sounds. You've nailed it!
