Title: Stream audio from Android to Genos via WiFi?
Post by: DerekA on June 17, 2020, 02:59:17 PM
Sadly Genos does not have Bluetooth.

But I know that using the Yamaha Chord Tracker app on my Android mobile, I can cast audio via WiFi to the Genos WLAN so that it plays through the Genos speakers. But it only works for standalone music files on the device through that app (e.g. wav, mp3). It doesn't work for e.g. streaming from Spotify, which does not see the Genos as WiFi speakers.

Does anyone know if it's possible to stream any audio you like (e.g. Spotify) from Android to the Genos via WiFi? (And specifically Android using WiFi).

Hi Derek

You need a Bluetooth transmitter.

There are different options. Search 'bluetooth transmitter' on Amazon. You can get battery powered or USB powered. Mine's USB powered - it plugs into a spare USB port on the back of the Genos.

Here's one:

Plug an audio lead from the transmitter to the Aux In (L/R) socket on the Genos. You'll probably need adaptor for the lead to fit the socket.

Then connect your mobile to the transmitter through Bluetooth.

Cheers
