Do you have a particular keyboard in mind. If so best posted on that thread.

Hi Eileen

Do you think a new Genos is on the horizon
I personally do not think it is.

With all these free packs giving away it makes you think that something else with a different format is looming.
The worse scenario no more Genos in the future.
Yamaha are not in the business to give things away ,but if they do ,there must be a price to pay.
It is an odd time to do this when businesses are going bust and this covid 19 which in my view will last into next year also second wave resurgence.
Also the possibility of 3million chinese imports. Not Genos's ;D lol

All the best
John

No I don't think we will see a New Genos soon as I think there is still scope for the one we have.
I don't see any connection with giving away packs which an awful lot of us have already. The third party packs seem to be doing well so there probably is not much call now for the Yamaha ones. They probably want to concentrate more on there keyboard side.

Well, let’s hope that they do concentrate on their keyboards and give us a small app that we can edit our "quick recordings" so that we haven’t got to go through the recording process everytime we have just a couple of notes that need to be pushed back into line.

You can certainly edit a quick recording of a midi file. I don’t think you’ll ever be able to edit an audio file (on any keyboard, for that matter).

I use the keyboard. What used to be called Song Creator.

So if you play a wrong chord in the middle can you change it in "Song Creator"

Only asking, 😀

You can use Punch in and out to record a new section over the wrong one.

If you've played the wrong chord then you have 6 channels of notes to correct. This is more than nudging a couple of notes which, as Fred says, is easy on the keyboard. But even replacing a wrong chord is not that difficult using punch in/out on just the style tracks.

This kind of minor editing is very easy. Just set the channels and bar or bars you want to re-record (in this case with a wrong chord just the style channels) then  play. Only the section and channels you set up will record. You can start and stop the recording just a few bars either side of the change. Takes no time at all when you have done it a few times.
I think a change that is really needed is a simple final midi mix function. That can’t be done now, so if you record a multi tracked midi and want to adjust volume of the tracks to balance the mix there is no way on the keyboard. That is a very basic recording function.
