I'm trying to use the mic input to my PSR-970 sing along with the music but the vocal is really quiet.
I've ensured the switch in the back is on mic and the volume number turned all the way up (tried several different positions).
When basically yelling into the mic with volume all the way up the Input Level on the MIC/GUITAR SETTING page barely registers and I can barely hear something out of the speakers.
Does anyone know what kind of 1/4 inch input it requires? TS or TSR? I'm using TSR right now.
Or is there something else I'm missing?
I'm supposed to lead worship at a Bible Study tonight using this method so any quick help is greatly appreciated.
Thx,

Hello NASAMike! Are you using a DYNAMIC mic? A condenser mic can not be used on the S970 because it has no phantom power.
Also please check the little gain knop at the back of the keyboard, and turn it almost all the way up.

Yes, dynamic mic and I've tried several setting of the gain knob, all the way to high.
I'm going to buy a TS connector and hope that using the TRS connection is the problem.

My son just got me the TR connector and volumes are now normal.
So the answer is that the mic input requires a TR input not TRS.

Yes, normally the mic already comes with a TS cable, because it is a mono device.
