Title: Volume Control SX900
Post by: chax on April 21, 2020, 02:23:31 AM
PSR SX900
I have noticed that the volume starts getting effective and just audible only after the Volume control knob has rotated  20% from the minimum position i.e. up to 20% of Volume knob rotation there is no sound. Is it by default or a defect?

Thanks
Chax

Hello!

This is normal. You will only hear the volume, really, when the hand points to 9 o'clock.

Hi Chax,

Mine is the same... with a very quiet electrical click as the volume finally kicks in.

Best wishes,
Rich

There seems to be no logic to do that, as, it is not Normal to have the VC operating from quarter to nine position. It may be either the threshold for input amp is higher or the VC is not logarithmic but linear. Maybe experts can throw some light and if there is no solution, this could go as an input to YAM.
