Title: Modifying recorded midi song
Post by: Fred Smith on April 16, 2020, 09:51:06 PM
I have a midi file, where, when I play it, I want to transpose up 2, and lower the volume settings for channel 1 and 3.

I can, of course, do this every time I load the song, but I'd like to make the changes permanently.

Can I do this on the keyboard, and if so, how?

Thanks,
Fred

You can do this as the video shows. I think you are missing the part of Setup> Execute.

It's amazing what happens when you read the manual.

I went to Multi Recording, and there was a Transpose button. You can even transpose each channel separately, but I did them all +2.

Then I went into StepEdit, and changed the starting volume event for Channels 1 and 3.

Voila, problem solved.

Maybe the manuals aren't useless after all.

Cheers,
Fred

I thought you couldn't save the changes. Transpose is in this video.
Yes, the manual needs to be studied.  ;D

yamaha use also channel 9 for percusion
by transpose the drums changing to the wrong instruments
