Title: Organ sounds for Genos
Post by: Hammond Yamaha on April 03, 2020, 02:50:08 AM
Just curious, has anyone installed the KAPRO Hammond B3 Expansion kit or the EASY SOUNDS Organ kit in the Genos yet and if so,
which one is best recommended?  Exploring the thought and may purchase.

Because the SK2 is no arranger and to largeto use above or under the Genos.

Hi Frank,

I am not familiar with the KAPRO Expansion Packs, but I have installed all EASY SOUNDS Packs available for Genos and Tyros5 since I was involved in developing these packs as one of the beta testers. :)

NOTE: All Soundlibraries and Expansion Packs for Yamaha synthesizers and Yamaha keyboards are now available in the new EASY SOUNDS shop:
https://www.easysoundsshop.de/

The shop will now be taken over by Hans-Peter Henkel (“HaPe”) starting from 1st of April 2020. Despite the shop handover, Peter Krischker will remain with the customers as a sound designer and manufacturer of EASY SOUNDS products.

The two Organ Packs for Genos are:

Live Organ (introduced in 2015)
https://www.easysoundsshop.de/4989/genos_live_organ_download_

Organ Session (introduced in 2018)
https://www.easysoundsshop.de/4976/genos_organ_session_download_

For Demo videos, please click on the YouTube links on the product pages.

Please read also the descriptions of the Packs. There are big differences between the Voices of these two Packs.

All EASY SOUNDS Packs for Genos are here:
https://www.easysoundsshop.de/29010212021/yamaha_genos

@all
Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer the customer data to the new EASY SOUNDS Shop for legal reasons. Therefore, the previous customers must register again in the new shop for next orders.

Best regards,
Chris

Hello,
still respond, I completely agree with SORYT !!
If you have a Hammond SK2 in this case, I don't understand that you want to buy packages like 'Live Organ' or 'Organ Session'? Compared to the SK1 or 2, these packages are worth nothing!
It is perfectly possible to connect the SK2 to the Genos via Midi !!

I have the Organ Session from Easy Sounds.
Bought it on sale. Love it for the price. Big step up from Genos ...

I do have the SK2 but with a better list of Hammond sounds in the Genos, eliminates dragging the SK2 along and setting up and taking down.  The SK2 is truly a winner for sure.
Easy sounds seems great to listen to on YouTube.  Just wondering what it is really like from first hand experiences.

Thank you for your responses.

if you will improve youre hammond sound you better invest in a rotary simulator like the Neo ventilator ( expensive but the best) or the Lester K ,( good enough for stage and rock) ,
I have bought in the past a lot of organ packs and after all they mis the use of the drawbars and sounded  to static and boring like the standard "old" preset organs in the Yam keyboards .
Tweaking the rotary effect in the Genos will help a lot , ( if Yamaha take there customers serious they give us the YC61 rotary effect) and is better to play with than samples from 3rd party
I use the Nord 5D as a compromisse between a hammond and a synth and ik like it a lot in combination with the Genos.
I have also a Motion sound Pro 3T , I will soon try it on the Genos but it is too big and "too much" for in my living(playing) room :-)

some old example i have made with the Lester L unit >

I have the neo Ventillator.  I read somewhere that you can rout the organ through and loop back into the Henos.
I may give that a try.  Thank you for your input re the organ sounds.  I was wondering if you had control with draw bars etc.
If I reroute the organ voices, I would have to save the organ voice in user without effect (rotary etc).
Thank you,

Frank

I have routed the drawbars from Sub 1&2 to the input of the Lester K unit and the outputs of the Lester to the Aux in L&R
There is not a vcm you can use in combination with the sub outs , so u can use the standard Hall effect
I have made some screen prints , you can use the ventilator on the same way like this

Thank you for the photos.  I have the original neo Ventillator with mono input but L&R output. So I will get a chord from L &R sub output to a single line to input into the neo .  My next question is, can you save that setting in a Registration?  And in that way, it won’t interfere with other registration setups?

I now have the Neo Ventillator sub’d through aux in.  Set up a registration. And, it all works as I had hoped.
Now the organ sounds like it should, especially when playing Time Is Tight a Booker T & The MG’s tune.
I haven”t used the vent in a while.  I purchased it when I had the Hammond XK100 but since the SK2 had a much better Leslie effect, I didn’t need to use it. For a while I had it up for sell. Now I am glad I didn’t sell it.
You have been a wonderful help with this.  Now I don’t need to purchase the organ sounds as I had planned.
Thank you to you and so many others that have given me assistance with various issues in the past.

  Frank.

Frank,
Can you point us to where we can listen to some of your music, listening to other members play gives us inspiration and something new to go for, I like new ideas and learning to how other members put their songs together.
