Title: Y-StyleRevoice
Post by: BogdanH on February 11, 2020, 01:34:37 PM
Hello,

Y-StyleRevoice is a Windows program that I have made for my personal use. As it's name implies, it is used for replacing voices in Yamaha style files. My goal was, to make a tool which is easy to use and simple to understand.

If interested, you can take a look at my web page:
Y-StyleRevoice (http://digi-life.synology.me/software/YStyleRevoice.html)
-and download it for free.

*It can happen you need to wait few seconds in case my web server is in "sleep" mode.

To Moderator(s): I'm aware that's a double post. Because I think not many are checking all sections in this forum (but might be interested in such tool), I decided to post here in PSR section too. If you find that not appropriate, feel free to remove it -no hard feelings  :)

Bogdan,

I was able to download the file, but length shows 1,290KB?
Tried to extract files with WinRAR, but says "unknown format or damaged".
Running Win10-x64 version 1909.  Any ideas why it's not working for me?
Thanks, Jerry

Hi Jerry,

1,209KB is OK for this RAR file (the exact size in the properties of the file is 1.320.768 Bytes).

You might be using an older version of WinRAR (?)

I recommend to use "7-zip" (V19.00):

Hello Jerry,
As Chris said, that's the rar size of current version. I'm using WinRar v5.40 which isn't that new actually. And yes, 7-Zip can open rar files as well (I use both).
Hope it will work for you on next attempt.

What's the advantage of this program over using the keyboard's mixer to change voices?

Thanks Bogdan, Chris,

;D My fault --- WinRAR version 4.01 here   LOL!   Used 7-Zip, and no problems 8)

Now, I'm far from being an expert, but from what I know, it's impossible to change all style voices in (keyboard) mixer alone. Although there are ways (I guess) to change on keyboard "all" voices used in style, that's VERY time consuming process.
There are so many styles available for download.. from various keyboards, many already revoiced (from what to what keyboard?).. and I realized, big majority of them sound quite lousy.. many times because "missing" voices (for MY keyboard).
I suggest you make a "test". Take few styles you downloaded somewhere, and take a look with Y-StyleRevoice.. Ok, is possible it's not useful for you.. it's just one of many tools  :)

Ok, so you can do a batch. That's pretty cool.

Hi

Guess it is like the functionality in my "Style Voice Change" software at http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/stylevoicechange/index.htm   ;)
