Can anyone help me with the Glenn Miller sound on the Genos , I just cant get there , hoping to get Moonlight Serenade style and sound plus In The Mood to , hope some kind person can help

Thanks for the info but there's no option to Add to Cart, only Save to Wishlist.
Clicking on my Wishlist after I've saved it shows the item is Out of Stock. Given this is a downloadable file that seems rather strange.
As an aside, navigating the Yamaha MusicSoft website is like being back in the 1990s ...

Yamaha MusicSoft tells me "at no charge" but "sold out" at the same time. A download share would be much appreciated.

Back on topic, not long ago, Peter (Xeenix) posted some very good Glenn Miller registrations linked to the Easy Keyboard Library Glenn Miller book.
Have a look in the Charter Files section for them.

On style Midnight swing OTS4 has a nice mix. Also try Ensemble voices with Harmony/Echo there are some good mixes there.

There is a perfect "Moonlight Serenade" style that came with one of the older keyboards. I remember having it years ago, the intro was dead on.
I visited YouTube back then and found there are LYRICS for the original song. I heard Frank Sinatra's version and worked up something based on his version of the song. I was just starting to play the keyboard back then some 15 years ago and set it aside.
I bet I still have the style and I will look through my styles for it.

okay, I found the "Moonlight Serenade" style.
Like I stated in the earlier post I came across this style years ago. Back 14 years ago I just took a stye played it in the keyboard. I just loaded it into my board and in its current state it needs more work done to it (IMO).
The style has only one intro and one ending but they are perfect. There are only TWO mains (A&B) in the style. But with what is there to start you out with, if you put the time in on this style, it will be a winner for sure.

A "Glenn Miller sound" is simply a piano; stand-up acoustic bass;
saxes - 2 alto, 2 tenor, 1 bari; 4 trumpets, 4 bones, a drummer.
Tomorrow I will have had my Genos for a week, but I've only
been able to spend three days with it; day one played demos.
I don't know how to make styles yet, but working on it. I had
to back up data, and then update my firmware to 2.01.
If you play everything into the Genos and layer, then you get
"the sound" with the parts I listed above.
Note:
Sometimes the lead tenor switches to alto, and sometimes
the lead alto player plays clarinet. It depends on the number
being played.

I think you're forgetting a big component of his sound in many songs was a lead clarinet in the sax section. :)

That's incorrect. The Classic Miller sound is: Clarinet lead doubled with Tenor Sax playing an octave lower. In between are three Alto Saxes. The other instruments mentioned are correct, but there should also be a drummer!
When it comes to Yamaha keyboards, there are dozens of ways of getting this and everyone's ears will be a little different so the 'right' one for one player will be 'wrong' for someone else. Don't forget the 'Moonlight' voice in Legacy, which is the lead clarinet and sax combined! And when you're setting things up, make sure that you're not using the same instruments in the style and the right hand!

nope... I wouldn't forget me! The lead clarinet is not always present; as I played and still play both, just not at the same time. So when I am playing lead clarinet, yes, there is one less sax playing.

Must have been great to live back in the day. Anyway, I was more interested in Stuart getting his Glenn Miller sound. My instructor has passed on. It's been a while now... time flies.
There is a drummer. I played clarinet in other songs, but never when playing, "In The Mood".

Wonder if anyone has a good work-around for the "Boo-pah, Boop - ahh" sound (as on Tuxedo Junction)? In other words, a cupped then open trombone?
