how to turn off QuickStart on the 975?
i cant seem to find it

If you mean Quick Start for MIDI Songs, the setting is in the Song Setting menu.

Press: FUNCTION > TAB to MENU 1 > SONG SETTING > TAB to OTHERS.

Quick Start is set using the #4 or #5 buttons.

This is explained on page 55 of the downloadable 'PSR-S975/S775 Reference Manual'.
