Title: WahWah on the sx900
Post by: Mendel on January 02, 2020, 01:28:17 AM
Hello,

As we know yamaha has not taken care of the bug that on the multi-effects the pedal-wah option would not work,
im very intrested to know if that issue was resolved on the sx900.

And one more question, has anyone gotten used to using the pitchbend like for making that vibrato for the e. guitar etc..?
(i tried doing it on the korg paXXX and its very challenging..)

The Pedal Wha works perfectly in the PSR SX900, because it has the VCM (Virtual Circuit Modulation) technology as the Tyros5, PSR S970/975 and SX900, that I know for sure, the PSR S770/775  do not have the VCM Effects, and unfortunately I do not have a PSR SX700 to check if it does....
I have the SX900 and Genos and those two have it...

I am attaching a PSR SX 900 Single registration that I just made for this topic, make sure you connect the Expression pedal in
port # 2
I play the song Sleepwalk with this, as a bonus, I added a delay to it. Santo & Johnny from the late 50s, popular in early 60s
I usually use the Pedal wha for other R & B or West Coast Swing tunes, not on this one, but just to show that it does work.
I usually use at least 4 registrations for a song....Anyway, I hope this answers the question....
I tried to upload the registration file, and only allows bpm, jpeg and others files, but not the rgt file....so, sorry....was not up to me.

Manuel, you must upload to a file sharing service such as box.com, and share the link. That is what they want us to do now.
By the way, I just got an expression pedal, but have not tried the wah effect yet :)

Hello Manuel,

I get it. I think it's more then enough if you named a few voices what exist in the both instrument for this effect.

Thank you. It's a mystery. Your registration works. On the basis of the above, I found the solution. It isn't enough choose the WahWah effect at the pedal assign menu. It necessary in Voice edit / Effect choose either Modulation/Pedal Wah set too.! That's the thing. Well, no differences were found between 900 and 700 in that case.

Some additional info or tip....I usually play a song using (if am playing SX 900) 4 Registrations, (5 if am using my Genos). Having said that, I only assign one Registration for the Wha Pedal, is very effective, I play St. Luis Blues, I will upload the file, but I think I have it for the Genos now....well. You get the idea.

I uploaded the PSR SX 900 Registration (all 8, from 1 to 7 normal, the 8 is the one I assigned the Pedal ) for St. Louis Blues, the guitar Wha Pedal registration is on the 8 button.
Make sure you have a pedal in # 2. And when you activate 8, play up and down the pedal at the same time you are playing the right hand....Here the link to download the Registration.
