Title: My first Psr-SX900 performance dedicated to Donny (Dnj)
Post by: Telmo on October 19, 2019, 02:23:12 AM
Hello to all,
This is my first vídeo performance with my newest toy, the Psr-SX900. I’m playing a Bee Gees, Massachusetts instrumental cover. I’d like to dedicate this performance to Donny (Dnj), a SynthZone Forum member musician.
The style I have used is the “Country 8Beat” which I edited a little bit to be more suitable for the music playing. There i also a Multi pad which is playing in synchro with the Style for the orchestral Strings melolies. If you wish to try the style and Multi Pad with your SX900 check the attachments.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNA8VGotN6U&feature=youtu.be (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNA8VGotN6U&feature=youtu.be)

Thelmo ....

I am honored for the dedication of this beautiful song.
I Love the Bee Gees. Now I can see and hear the SX900 in action.
You certainly did a fantastic job performing it. Bravo!
Thank you so much,

Dnj

Hello Telmo
What a wonderful performance on your new Psr-sx900 . Congratulations on the purchase of your new keyboard.
I really like the way that you walked the bass up between chord changes.  I have never been able to figure out
what chord fingering type to use to get this effect .  Great job Telmo .

Dave

Hi Donny, I'm glad you enjoyed. When I was learning this tune on my SX900 I thought of you regarding your indecision  to get this keyboard. I felt the same way when I was about to order it because I had the S975. After its arriving it was certainly I great choice I made. The key action, the touch screen, the expansion memory and now you don't even need the extra usb stick because the internal memory for saving styles and voices are enormous comparing to the S975. This keyboard is growing on me. I starting to like it. Best regards.

Thank you Dave for your kind words. Regarding the "Fingering Type" I use "Al Fingered". If you wish you can try the style and multi pad attached. Happy playing.

Telmo, Very nice playing....
So, how do you feel about going to middle arranger (SX900) vs the T5 you used to play?
Lots of difference of the 2 keyboards?

Thank you Lee. To me Tyros 5 is unbeatable, but, due to my back problems I had to find some keyboard lighter to transport and had almost everything Tyros 5 had. The SX900 is a Tyros little brother and the latest keyboard with great features. It starts to grow on me. I think I'm gonna like that.

Telmo,
Are the sounds on that piece all from SX900 or are you using some VST as well??
Thanks,
Lee

Hello Telmo,
A very nice performance on your SX900. It is more the baby brother of Genos then Tyros as the operating system is slightly different in doing things.

Lee, no VST . I gave it up all my VST plugins and virtual software. But I do use lot of Expansion Packs from Yamaha. For this performance I'm using some of the guitar voices from the Tyros Latin Pack and a few others.

Yes, you are correct Eillen. The Sx900 seems more likely closer to Genos.

Hello Telmo  :) ;)

Always enjoy watching your videos and how you maneuver around the keyboard for live play and this was no disappointment,
Very creative use of the pads,,, yes,, 3 $ 4... plus clever use of those 3 voices, choosing what combos you wanted.
Never imagined a country style could work for that song.
Deliveries on that sx900 not expected till early next year.
Nice dedication to Donny another talented keyboard player.
Will try to download those styles... Maybe will work in the Genos for now
Thanks for posting your song.
All the best to your beautiful family

cheers
