Dusan,

I have a T5 and a Ketron SD7 which basically is an SD40 with a keybed.

They are connected by midi out from T5 to midi in on SD7 as I use the T5 as the master and SD7 as slave.
I am able to use the keyboards as follows.

Play T5 styles and voices.
Play T5 with SD7 styles and voices.
Play T5 with T5 styles and SD7 voices.
Play T5 with SD7 styles and T5 voices.

The Midi templates in the T5 need to be edited. If this is what you require then I will try and help you through the process.

O.K. Dusan,

Lets just start with getting the T5 to play all SD40 styles and voices. You will only need one Midi cable from T5 Midi out to SD40 Midi in.

On the T5 press the Function key above the  Musicfinder button. Press Midi. and you T5 should be set to All Parts. Press Edit at bottom of screen and you wil get the Midi perameters screen.
On the first tab :- System - Local Control remove all the ticks with the buttons at the bottom of the screen. Do not change anything else on the System tab.
Now move across to the Transmit tab. Turn all these to Off using the Transmit Channel switch at the bottom of the screen except for the two marked LEFT and UPPER. These should both be set to PORT1 CH1.
Press Exit and then press Save at the bottom of the screen and give the midi template a name of your choosing. I suggest SD40.

You should now have no sound at all from your T5 but styles and voices from your SD40.

If that all works, let me know and I will give you the other information you need for the other options.

Good luck,
Alan

O.K. Dusan,

This time we get the T5 styles and SD40 voices.

On the Midi screen under the System tab Local Control only the style needs to be checked. All the others should be unchecked.
On the Transmit tab Right1, Right2, Right3 and style all set to off. Upper set to Port1 Ch1. Lower set to Port1 Ch2.
Exit and save this template as T5 style SD40 voice.

Now SD40 Style and T5 Voices.

Under System tab, Local Control set the Song, Style and Left unchecked and the Mpad, R1, R2 and R3 checked.
On Transmit tab set Right 1, Right 2 and Right 3 to off. Set Left to Port1 Ch1 then set Upper to off.
There are lots more options on this page but all can be left alone.
Exit and save as before and call it SD40 Style T5 Voice

If all three templates work O.K. you should now have all the playing options you require.

Good luck and let me know how if it all works.

Alan.

As far as I am aware, to be able to use the Tyros Fill and Variation, etc. to control the SD40 you would need to have the midi send information remapped as each manufacturer seems to use different midi perameters. Something which is way beyond me if at all possible.
The second part of your question I also cannot answer as I have never tried to use a registration. I think the answer would be similar to the first question but if someone can prove me wrong then I wait in anticipation.

Sorry, not much help I'm afraid.

Alan.
