Does anyone use the Arpeggio? I have been playing about with it but cant see where it is of value. Could anyone give me a song and arpeggio setting where it could be used.? Maybe it is more for music production?Always inquisitive!! Jean.

I use the arpeggiator a lot. It really depends on what kind of music you are playing. Actually most all the style Parts were created using an arpeggiator. But playing a "live" arpeggiator is a little different. There are a couple of Arpeggio parameters in the Live Control menu that are important. It takes awhile to learn how to play the arps. You don't just hold the notes down, but play note patterns (the melody) with the right hand and the arp will follow your playing. Try playing 2 notes then 3 notes while playing a melody.
1. Arp Gate Time (this will determine the length of the notes)
2. Arp Unit Multiply (this will determine the speed which the arp plays)

I start using an arp about 30 seconds into the tune.

Thanks for the comments. Multi Pads and style Parts are recorded arps. I have followed the thread on MM2, but I don't work with MIDI songs files very much.

Thanks Joe for your very clear explanation. The musical example is quite lovely. I will experiment with the live control knobs. I had not used them,so that was probably why I could not get the result I liked.Cheers. Jean.

I guess my real strength is as a "Re-mixer". I've been recording myself and other people for more than 50 years it seems. But I get a real kick from rearranging styles and Multi Pads and putting them together in a final mix. It's all in good fun.

Hi. Where exactly can I find these settings? Well thank you.

Press the ASSIGN button above the 2 Live Control knobs. You will see 8 presets you can assign parameters to. On the right side of the screen you will see an ASSIGN tab. Press the button next to it and a (long) list of parameters will appear that you can assign to the 2 knobs for each of the presets.
Scroll down the list to select which parameters you want for knob 1 and knob 2 then press EXIT to save your settings. Do this for each of the 8 presets.
