Title: Wondering if the newest SX-900 will accomadate more Audio Styles in User Memory
Post by: Telmo on August 11, 2019, 01:17:30 PM
In the Psr-S970 and S975 we are able to install ONLY 6 or  7 extra Audio  Styles using the Expansion Manager due to memory limitation. Now, with the SX-900 memory capacity, I wonder how many Audio Styles  we are going to be able to have on its user memory. Can Anybody guess??

The SX900 and Genos work in the same way as Audio Style packages. It has 2 GB of Audio Style (This information is not published by Yamaha, but I found it through the SX900's Info.n27 file.

You can see in the picture below. In YEM when I selected 8 pack Audio Style, 1Gb memory for sample is still intact.
When I switch to Pack Install, we can see 8 pack Audio Style, It took 619MB of the total capacity of 4096MB.
This means that you can install up to 128 Audio Style packages, each with up to 128 Style Audio per pack.

Thanks a lot Snicker. That means, now,  with the SX900,  can have all the Audio Styles Packs inside the keyboard ready to play. That's great news. I will upgrade from my S975 when it's available in my Country. Cheers.

Great question Telmo.
Thanks for the valuable Snicker information, good that yamaha today works with GB and no longer with MB.

If it works like Genos it is now possible to have Audio styles working from USB. You have to load them in first but you can then save them one at a time to the User or USB. Once saved you can remove them from the YEM.

Thanks a lot Eileen, I didn't know about it. It's good to find out  if this function will also be available with the newest SX-900. Time will tell.
