Title: Save midi file to USB
Post by: Senn5 on July 14, 2019, 08:42:08 PM
Looking at buying the s975 tomorrow but have a coupe of questions before then. when you save a song to usb does it save all tracks as separate tracks in the midi file?  For example does it save the backing tracks from styles as well.
What I want to do is make a song on the S975, save to midi and then load into a daw like Cakewalk (bandlab) and then convert those tracks into audio for further mixing and editing. Is this even possible or am I pipe dreaming here?

Thanks in advance for any help...:)

Yes it will save all the style parts you play as well as multi pads you may use and the melody voices.
At this stage you can do all your editing in the midi section.
This can then be played into the Audio recorder on the keyboard and you then have your WAV file.

There are 2 midi formats
Midi 0 all tracks are in one track
Midi 1 all tracks are separate
most sequencers conver automatic the midi 0 to midi 1
You can also use gnmidi to convert from midi 0 to midi 1
or visa versa midi 1 to midi 0
You can even bulk convert
all files in a dir wil be convert at once
