Unfortunately, these buttons can not be cleaned or repaired, therefore they must be replaced. If you have a fair degree of electro/mechanical skills, you do this yourself. If not,  the job will have to be done by an authorized Yamaha repair center.

All the best,

It's likely carbon buildup.

The contact needs some Cleaning.

If not the Rubber needs replacement.
It may have degraded over time.

It's a good sign that it's working.
I would advise avoid using it till it repaired.

That's a let down, that it's not easily fixable.

Hi ivtec,              There's one tempory help at hand if you have a spare pedal space.
Hit Direct Access/ tap a foot pedal, there should be a list of alternatives on the left of screen for each pedal.
On the screen, first select the pedal 1 or 2, in top corner, then one of a list of options.

               Good luck,      Alan

These switches are pretty much a non-repair item. They are hermetically sealed, therefore cleaning the carbon from the contacts is not possible without destroying the switch covers.

You can do all four in series. One press of the pedal takes you from variation A to B, another press gets you from B to C, another press gets you from D.

You want to set your pedal, in the Controller, to Fill Up.

Cheers,

Hi Ivtec,
one year ago  I have the style variation buttons row replaced on my s750.
They costed me 25 euros the whole row and 55 euros for the technician.(I live in Greece).

If you don't want to replace them maybe you may want to try to start using the Registration buttons also.
For example:
Reg 1 for Main A+fill in A.....reg 4 for Main 4+fill in 4.
