Title: What is my Tyros 4 hard drive formatted to?
Post by: Scott Langholff on February 24, 2019, 01:11:47 AM
Does anybody know for certain what my T4 HD is formatted to? I need to know this for the Geek Squad who needs to recover lost files, transfer to an external drive and paste back on my T4 HD. The rep said they needed that info, but I'm wondering if they even need it , if they just can't transfer back to T4 over the HD that I accidentally reformatted. But if that info is needed they will need to know for sure. Wondering if it's fat32

Hi Scott.
I'm pretty sure it's FAT32.
If look at this replacement video at YT, you'll also see the new drive is beeing formattet to FAT32.

The 250 GB hard disk originally in my Tyros4 was formatted as FAT32 with allocation unit size of 64 KB.

The keyboard's built in disk formatting function will only format drives as FAT32.
