Title: Mfc-10 out of production
Post by: Bachus on January 10, 2019, 03:16:48 PM

I called 3 dealers in Holland and the 2 biggest internet resellers (bax and thomann) in Holland

The Mfc10 seems no longer to be in production?

Can anyone confirm this?

So what would be a good alternative?
I don’tblike the behring 1010, it feels much less reliable then the mfc10

Sold my t5 with my mfc10, guess i dhould have kept the mfc10 back then...

Roland makes quality decent gear, just a bit pricey......

Definately goodgear
Definately expensive
Lots of things i don’t need
And only 7 pedals assignable

I think it would do just fine

I know of 4 new units for sale in Italy @298€ each. Shipping to me in Spain was 20€, so I think to you should be similar.

It is strange ( and a shame) that Yamaha dont come with a alternative Midi pedal , But this pedal from nektar look a nice alternative for the MFC10 if you can program it
to work on the Genos .  https://nektartech.com/pacer-midi-daw-footswitch-controller/

This is probably the best option available (outside buying used)

I prefer this above Behringer and naktar

The Italy option I commented is not OK for you?. Or are they too expensive?

No, its not an option, importing from other countries makes me pay extra taxes in Holland.. i think i would end up paying €400 or above after taxes... its only an option if they sell taxfree in Italy

Holland is not in EU?. I buy from Italy from Spain without extra taxes, just shipping cost. Curious...

It does seem strange that Yamaha should discontinue this model after so many years!

Perhaps they will announce something new at NAMM to replace it with!

I have both, MFC10 and FCB1010. But I always use the Behringer for several reasons:

* It does everything the MFC10 does
* It has two expression pedals
* It is built more solidly

I put my hands on a used one in mint condition, for 130 euro..

I decided on the mfc for 2 reasons
A) i have been happy with it in the past
B) its 10 cm shorter, which is an issue in my setup with 2 keyboards..

Slowly my new setup is getting where i want it to be

Hello,

No, build quallity issues, i owned one

I have one for a month, I remote my genos with, it works fine. The FCB1010 exists for nearly 10 years, I know that earlier ones had issues.

Just ordered one of the last few (4) MFC-10’s in UK from A C Hamilton in UK. £259 delivered!

Spoke to Keith at Hamilton’s last Friday late on, as I’d seen them listed as out of stock on their website but available  to order.

Keith said he’d check stock with Yamaha UK, and get back to me on Monday (today). He got back to me promptly this morning and quoted less than their previously advertised web price.
Extremely helpful, product is now on order.

Check them out here:

MFC10 arrived on Friday as Keith at Hamiltons advised, set it up on Saturday following the instructions on this forum, very pleased with it.
Note this particular version does not come with a power supply.

Strange, they allways come with a power supply?
Was it in the orriginal packaging?

Yes original packaging including a slip from Yamaha  saying that not all models come with a power supply and recommending the purchase of a genuine Yamaha PSU.

Have it setup and working quite simply, will do more advance configuration soon.
Does anybody have a workshop/maintenance manual for the MFC-10 I’d be interested in seeing what’s inside.

Thanks thats exactly what I was looking for.

The MFC-10 is fine for what I need for now, however I’m an ardent hardware/software developer and can see the time when I might want to replace the existing PCB with a dedicated micro controller (Arduino or Adafruit Metro M4 running circuit python) to allow programming, setup and configuration over WiFi  or over USB using iPhone/iPad or PC. Obviously utilising the existing case, switches, display and possibly the 12V power supply.

Now if only I could find a non working example MFC-10 to try it on!

I’m currently have one of these on the bench to try out as a MIDI Controller -
