Title: how to automatically slows down the tempo at the end of a song?

Hello,

I have been searching for information on "how to automatically slows down the tempo" at the of a song via one of the Ending button.  Does anyone have any idea how to do that? Is there a way to program the style to do that much like the fade in/out function?

I bet not a lot of members know that.

I wish we could have more control
Like dropping down from 120 to 80 ready to start the next song at 80 tempo

It’s easy to have more control with registrations. I will often have more than one registration with progressively lower tempos to end a song.

But wouldn’t this produce a series of sudden changes in tempo rather than a progressive ritardando?

Hi,

You can change tempi using MixMaster to modify a style, once done you only play the style and the tempo will change to your wishes in the Ending(s).

Yes, I do that in StyleMagic
I can insert tempos in the ending to what ever I need,
But, that’s another process,
The ‘double tap’ ending is so easy

Piet,  thank you for your reply,

I find the more I play with software the less playing and learning the songs.

I could be a much better player if I hadn’t wasted a lot of time on software over the years.

I strive for a no mistake gig, may never happen,
practice, practice practice is the name of the game.

I have found that for most songs, tempo changes are better than a ritard.

There are also a couple of other ways of changing the tempo.
1. On the 970 you can assign a control knob to master tempo and change the tempo up or down live anywhere in the song.
2. On most keyboards if you press the tempo buttons you then have access from the control wheel and can slowly change tempo up or down using the control wheel.

Alan,
I am not sure what keyboard you have and don't know how this would relate to a PSR, but on Genos if you go to Live control in the menu and double tap on a slider or knob function, a window giving a range of options pops up, including Master Tempo.

On the PSR S970 if you press the assign button you will see a list of assignable functions to the Live Control knobs. As John said, we do not know which keyboard you have but if you have either a Genos or a PSR970 this should cover it.

That's what I did before. My instrument is an s970, but I can't see the tempo function in either of the two lists (knob 1 & 2).

You may have to scroll to the bottom. I am looking at my keyboard now and I have both 1 and 2 controls set to master tempo and show as such in the live control screen.

Thank you for persevering with me. Not having used the Live Controls, I hadn't realised that there are lots of functions available by pressing (I) Assign on the Live Control screen. In my ignorance I thought that I could only choose from the eight options being displayed. It works beautifully. Thank you.

Glad I could help. I may not have been to clear in the instructions as I re-read them. There are actually two Assigns, the physical one on the panel, and the one in the display. May have helped if I was more specific in that you have to use both.
The PSR S970 has a lot of capability which really enhances our ability to produce some very creative arrangements...
