Title: Song Creator ( Midi Input)
Post by: Normanfernandez on October 13, 2018, 08:47:24 PM
Recoding another track ( Channel on Song Creator)
We can select the source of the voice that's to be recorded on that particular track.

Out of all that.
Midi is in that list.

Where's the source for that midi input?

Not quite sure what you are asking but in song recorder select the empty track you want to record to. On the dropdown menu select right one. Right one is usually always use for adding tracks so select your voice on right one and then record your track.

I have never used the "Midi" before but I guess, if you had your keyboard connected to your PC. You could then play a Midi file and the keyboard will add it to the Song you are creating. Of course the track could only be a one VOICE source.

A much "better and easier" way to multi track is to use "Audacity" (it's free). Create your tracks using the keyboard and then turn each one into an MP3 file. Then you can assemble them and balance out your creation using "Audacity" and then turn it into an MP3 file. Take the MP3 and play it on your keyboard using the WAVE player. You can then play along with your creation. Learning to use "Audacity" will save you a lot of headaches trying to do it on your keyboard, as Yamaha has some pretty bizarre ways of getting thing accomplished using just the keyboard.

The only advantage of using a Midi file instead of an MP3 file, is you can change the KEY you are playing the song in.

So, if you are wanting to create a play along midi file, then use "Audacity" instead and create an MP3 file. If you are wanting to create a "Custom Song" style in order to play live, then you will need to learn to use the Song Creator. ;)

Here is the download page for "Audacity":
