Title: 10cc voice
Post by: bobn1944 on August 07, 2018, 07:08:19 AM
Hi all, Has anyone any suggestions where I might get hold of a voice for my S950 to play the intro to 'I'm not in love' by 10cc.
To give you some idea, on Youtube there are two covers of this song by Jackson Taylor.
The first is played on a Yamaha synth (i don't know the model) and the second is played on a Nord Stage 2.
On the Yamaha, the voice sounds like a Rhodes with phaser effect. Something similar to this would be fantastic.
Or even modifying an existing voice. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help.

It's a Rhodes with a Phaser effect. The closest sound I could come up with was the MIDI GrandPad. You will need to add some effects to duplicate that exact sound, and the way it sounded to me, there is a guitar, which could be added with a Steel8btstrum multi-pad.

Good luck,

Gary

Picking up Gary's hook, I made the initial piano:

That Yam sounds good .. not so sure about the Nord. Maybe he should have opened the octaves up a bit (up one on the RH?)
