Title: Posted a new PSR-E433 song in the Songs by Forum Members section
Post by: SciNote on June 26, 2018, 09:04:13 AM
I just wanted to let readers here know that I posted a multi-tracked recording of an original song in the Songs by Forum Members section, using the PSR-E433 as the sole sound source.  I hope it's okay to post such a message -- I just wanted more people to see this, since the Songs by Forum Members section is not visible unless you're logged in.

It a song that I originally wrote back in 1991 called "Please Don't Leave."  I also posted a link to a YouTube recording of the same song that I did when I first started doing these recordings five years ago so you can see the difference.  The newest recording was done using my PSR-E433.  The one from five years ago was done using a PSR-520, before I got my E433.

More information about the song is in the post in the Songs by Forum Members section.  Enjoy!

Here's the link to the song in the Songs by Forum Members Section...

Hi Bob,

I checked your song, you really did a nice job. I suggest that you would put here a link to your original post in the “Songs played by forum members” section, since your original post will probably be rapidly buried amongst songs played by other members.  ;)

Vinciane

Good point!  The original post now has a link to the thread with the song.

I'll also add that that, while the PSR-E433 is superior to the old PSR-520 in many respects, the 520 does have a nice DSP feature.  On the YouTube recording, you can hear the DSP with the phaser on the background strings sound, as well as the distortion on the electric guitar sound in the middle of the song.  I feel I got pretty close with the E433, but not quite.  But of course, most of the other sounds are, in my opinion, better on the E433, with many more options for editing/customizing.  This would probably sound even better on an E453 or E463, since those keyboards do include the phaser and distortion DSP effects.

Hi,

Yes, same thing with the DGX 650: it has a very nice DSP module and it has some better sounds than the PSR E433 (esp. more Cool! and Sweet! voices), but unfortunately no live knobs, no resonant filter, no way to adjust parameters like the attack or the release time of the sound.

It is frustrating because when I play the E433 I am always looking for the DSP parameters, and when I play the DGX I am always looking for’the Live knobs or the buttons to mute the tracks  ::)

I’d like to try out the PSR E453 or 463 more thoroughly. The two times I tried the E453 in a shop I didn’t like the feel of the keys but maybe it is just a matter of getting used to it...

I also hope more people will buy’the E453 or 463 and we will hear more songs played on these keyboards.
