Post by: imzain786 on June 07, 2018, 06:38:55 PM
Dear All,
i hope you are all fine. i want to need some help.
i have installed some customized expansion pack in my PSR s970, and incidentally deleted my expansion setup file .
now, how can i copy / backup my all installed expansions. there is no any option to copy my voices, multi pads, etc, which is install in my instrument.
Is there any way to copy or re-backup my installed expansions

Regards

Bad news I'm afraid.

If you've lost the installation file (ppi, cpi) then you can't recreate it from the S970.

You have to create a replacement using YEM.

Did you not install these packs to the YEM. Then it is easy to make a new install pack for keyboard.

No.

It's a one-way process : create the install file with YEM on a computer, send it to the keyboard. You can't go the other way.

[There was some discussion in another thread about possibly extracting the voice set files from the keyboard, but they're no use without the sample waveforms. The waveforms are stored on your computer and only YEM can interpret them there.]

So, as Eileen said, if you used YEM to create the pack in the first place then you can run YEM and export it again. If you got the install file from somewhere else, or it was preinstalled on a keyboard, you cannot extract it back to the computer.
