Title: OS GENOS
Post by: Melody2018 on April 24, 2018, 08:59:02 AM
HI there

After having my GENOS here 3 weeks i have to admit some missing functions.
I realy hope YAMAHA can fix this in new OS

We cant edit Drum family on the GENOS, Must Use YEM, so on stage its not so easy .
Nothing (ALMOUST) can be edited on the GENOS, FX Etc yes, but if you like to increase a BasKick, YES is a must.
If you edit a style You cant Write you,r edits.
Many things is missed as a Workstation must have.
So for me , YES great sounding unit, but NOT Workstation IMHP.
Korg is more open there.
So Pls YAMAHA , Make an OS that can make this KB better.

What do you mean cant write? You can edit style, set according to your own taste  and save it in reg. memory the same way as in Tyros? Or?

Edit your style in "Style Creator" and save the edited style to "User Styles"

Of course you can "Write" a style on the Genos. Just use the Save icon.

Read the manual, maybe?

Do you own a Genos?

Genos is an arranger/work station. A true work station would be Montage.

Hi Melody2018.

I owned Korg arrangers for some years (PA2X and PA3X Pro). The functions list on Korg is at least 300% more than an Yamaha arranger, indeed. But we are now using Yamaha keyboards for some reasons: sounds better and love some things that Korg works in other way, stranger than Yamaha. We are now familiarized with Yamaha's way (even in some moments is disappointing), but you'll have to get used to it, this is Yamaha, and I'm 100% sure nothing will change. There are a lot of users are only "sit-and-play" users, which does not need those functions... They are many, so Yamaha will not listen to a few "strange" owners ;)
I have used with my Yamaha Genos and I really wait for an update which have to solve some strange behavior of some functions or controls on touch screen.

Regards,
Vali
