Are songs better than styles when gigging out?
I want to create a Setlist but I’m unsure if I should create styles in style creator and have them in my registrations or create songs. Can some of you experienced giggers out there post the way you gig out?🙂🎹

I'm not a experienced gigger, i've had "a few" And i always performed with styles instead of songs.
Feels more natural to play with styles than it is to play with songs for some reason.

Styles for me to and then just sit and play.

Same here!

Thanks guys! This makes sense. Styles is the way to go.

Nothing wrong with midifiles, but then what are you gonna do? Only play some melody lines from time to time? Or participate in some karaoke? I don't think that the audience wants that actually, they want to hear and see you play :)

The big problem with midi files, even if you are playing over them, they end at a specific time, which can be very inconvenient, especially when you have a dance floor filled with people. During a one hour performance, it was quite rare for me to use any midi files at all, and if I did, it was usually a song that I had difficulty performing live. There is no flexibility with midi files - most pro entertainers avoid them like the plague.
Good luck,

It depends on your musical ability
I think that an arranger keyboard is about playing chords
If I was to gig with midi files then I would probably have a different set-up
You have an option to go to Song Creator and ‘step record’ the chords and style parts
I think that would be better than buying midi files
To me, that would be a little bit like cheating
Better take your time to learn all the chords
It’s all about the time you put in and practice every day,
There are plenty of 3 chord and 4 chord songs around
Good luck
