Title: Converting PSR S970 styles for Genos
Post by: PWB on January 22, 2018, 03:13:58 PM
OK so I am now warming to the idea of upgrading to a Genos but a big stumbling block would be the conversion of the 650 or so styles that I have patiently collected and crafted over the last two years for my S970. I have problably spent hundreds of hours on these and I am not sure that I could face starting again. With a Mac computer I cannot use the conversion programmes from this site and so I am a bit stuck.  I love my Yammie and have been blown away with how good the 970 is, but of course an even better one would be, well, even better! Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm thinking the same about jump from T4, but by reading many posts here at the forum, it's probably just going to be just fine, even sound better.
Some small adjustments in settings and soundchanges have to be done to fit personal taste, but I think Genos will adapt older stuff in a good way.
Myself I will try out Genos without any changes at first to see whats in it to use "as is", and then try update what I have to come close to my liking.
As far as I have heard by now, the Revo drums alone do a great upgrade. :)

Hi,
I have a S-970 and a Genos.
The styles from the S-970 play perfectly fine.
However I chose to change all the drums to the much better Revo drums.

Thanks Eric,
That is very encouraging - did you need to convert anything or did the S970 styles play straight out of the box? - And most importantly do they sound any better on the Genos?

Hi,
The styles played perfectly fine straight out of the box without any converting.
They do sound a little better.
But as I said: I changed all the drums to Revo drums and saved the new style.
