I've even played some MIDI files I worked with back in the early 90s, 25 years ago!

It may be your USB stick.
Make sure it is compatible with Genos.
I had a brand new one that did not work.

Yes, I've transferred midi files successfully from the Tyros to Genos.

Are you sure you were using the midi player (and not the audio player)? There's a toggle switch in the song player that you have to press to get it to play midi files.

Hi Harry
Please modify the title of thread ... "genos" does not suggest anything about the content of your thread.

Thanks.

Genos is more temperamental than other Yamaha arrangers, I had a S970 that worked but not on Genos.

I have not had any trouble with sticks used on my 970 reading fine in Genos. I have Verbatim Store-N-Go for my 970.

Eileen,
I apparently had a non compliant USB stick that I used on the S970.
The S970 was more forgiving as to what stick can be used.
The USB stick you used is probably compliant with the Genos.
I checked my old one and saw it was not compatible for Genos.

Be careful to insert only one USB stick at a time. Remove any other key.
At this moment Genos does not correctly recognize the inserted units.

This is not correct. My Genos has no trouble correctly recognizing multiple USB sticks.
