Any idea how long we will waiting for new Firmware update?
I am realy missing in drum setup external samples editing.

I think there are some Beta testers we have to wait for... Every programming software team, that respect itself, has beta testers which receive first of all others the newly updates.

Agree. From what I've seen in the past, Yamaha won't take any chances that it might release firmware updates that could actuality cause new problems to occur (I'm looking at you Apple).

I hope we can use the other icons with the update , i see the "old" ones in my T5 registrations but they are gone on the Genos .
and a search function for style's wouldt also make the life easier :-)

On PSR series is possible edit any drum from Yamaha packs or other..In Genos is NOT.
So that part I am really missing.
There is so high quality of drums in those packs like EMO music packs or Balkan packs or any and now in Genos I am NOT able to use them on styles I want.
As we know is not possible edit those drum kits needier in YEM because they are LOCKED.
Yea,, even they Locked in PSR series we are still able to use them in DRUM EDITOR.
So please Yamaha.

The Tyros 5 had ,8 Firmware upgrades in its 4-year lifespan
so thats 1 firmware upgrade every 6 months .
so report your bugs and flaws quickly ,
unless you want to wait another 4 years

The Montage however has had quite a lot more patches
Most of them not only fixes but coming with new features and content.
Yamaha might actually surprise us with their update schedule.

Personally, I've send all bugs encountered to Yamaha Europe GmbH at Info-CEE@music.yamaha.com.
When I wrote here, some of the users said that are not important bugs, or in their opinion, those are not bugs, but another way of working... carping :D

We've provided Yamaha with a fistful of various flaws/bugs/requests to sort through and hopefully they will implement them at some point. I've heard the update is coming soon but how soon is anyone's guess. I'd rather let them take their time and do it right than rush the job which could potentially cause other anomalies not present in the current firmware revision. I'm guessing they could possibly release it during the winter NAMM show which runs from January 25-28. Yamaha will be showcasing the Genos and also the new PSR-s775/s975 and possibly other keyboard products such as a MOFX successor. Bring it on!

Maybe is not to late to please Yamaha:
Scale tune:
Ability to separate check mark for R1,R2,R3 "sections Keyboard parts.
Right now is only one check mark for all Right voices.
Genos refrence manual page 37.
That is very important for Eastern Europe-Balkan music.In that case we will be able to make type of "Harmony" called "Terca"
