PSR-SX900/SX700/SX600 / Re: PSR SX-900 Sub volume linking to main volume

Hello friend!
The best way to use it is to connect to the "Main output L/R". This way you can control the volume using the main button.
However, if you want to use the "Sub output" outputs to control the volume, you must pass the sound through a "Mix"
(We call it a soundboard in Brazil) and only then take the signal to the KS SW100.

I hope you understand

The Next Yamaha Keyboard / Re: Why do we always want more?

I can understand you Toril... I think it's natural that we change our mind (sometimes several times) before making a final decision.
About your issues:
1. YEM -I think if Yamaha doesn't make some drastic change in next keyboard OS, we can't really expect the YEM to improve.
2. 8-pin cable... Well, that solution is dictated by production costs of GNS-MS01 speakers and at the same time actually simplifies the connection (cabling). Every other solution would be quite more expensive. Imagine each speaker has separate amplifier built-in and that means it would also require it's own power cable -which would essentially be the same as if you buy a pair of studio monitors+subwoofer.

But no matter what surprise Yamaha brings, I think it's a good idea to wait for Genos3 -especially if you're happy with Genos1. Let there be a BIG change  :)

Music stores here in Norway usually do not take back instruments. So you have to be sure before you buy something. You can of course try the keyboards in the store, and I have done that with all the keyboards I have, but it is not so easy to felve deep into the OS when you are sitting at the store. However, you always get help when you ask for it.

I take back the statement of saving up for Genos 2, I will wait for Genos 3, and buy it IF my 2 issues are adressed: 1. YEM. 2. The 8-pin cable to the sub. I am still very happy with my G1, but you always want more.......

Hello Margaret! Keep in mind that the Yamaha keyboards have a file masking system. If you for instance open a folder with styles in the song section, the folder wil appear empty. Files are shown only in thair appropriate place, styles in style section, pads in pad section and so on. Could this be what happened?

Kurt, PJ

That did the trick. I just had to add an exit in the works as it defaulted to style rather than to go back to registration. But all good.  Very simple.

    Thank you.   All the best!

Hi Dom --

I hope I get this right...

OTS information is part of a style. Thus, if you save a bunch of settings to an OTS button, then the style must be saved, thus saving the OTS data in the process. If not saved to a style, the OTS buttons will be lost when switching to a different style.

If the OTS buttons do not light, then there isn't any OTS data in the style.

OTS does not get saved into a registration.

That's my reading of the so-called "Parameter Chart" in the Data List PDF file.

Hope this helps -- pj

OTS are saved in a style file. They are part of the style.

1) First save the OTS with [Memory] + [OTS 1..4]
2) Then save the style.

In the German manual the procedure is explained on page 54, in the English manual probably on the same page number.

Hi.

I have a style that does not turn my OTS lights on so have to assume that the style was saved for a reason with no OTS. Has Right1 & 2 voices assigned from when it was created.

I want to change the voices for each variation of the style and save in my registrations memory banks my changes.  The banks save my changes but the OTS lights don't come. Is there a way to turn them on?
