Title: "Fakebook" or app with suggested Styles
Post by: tson on December 19, 2018, 11:59:25 PM
1)  Does anyone have a recommendation for a "fakebook" that includes suggested "Styles" (preferably from the PSR series)?  I have only recently learned about "fakebooks" and they seem like a great tool for the arranger musician, but I am new to the PSR and a relatively amateur musician, so getting started with some PSR Style suggestions for popular songs, would be very helpful.

2)  Also, perhaps a suggestion on a user friendly app for iPad or Mac that would have access to 1000's of songs with corresponding chord charts and style suggestions.

Thanks!  :)

The Music Finder is Yamaha’s version of suggesting a style for a song.

In addition to the native one on your keyboard, there are lots you can download from this site.

Cheers,

The main site has a list of over 5,000 midi files performed over the years by various PSR Performers.  Here's the link:

https://psrtutorial.com/midi/midi_A.html

Note that for many of the songs, the Yamaha style used is listed.  For all the songs, the tempo is listed.  That link goes to the "A" page of songs.  Browse through the list to find a song you are looking for.  Many of the "standards" appear in the list of midi files.

By the way, you can download any of those midi files by right-clicking on them and play the file in your keyboard.
