Title: Resolution of Genos Digital Out
Post by: Snicker740 on July 14, 2020, 03:45:55 AM
I intend to use Genos as a MIDI audio box and capture the signal through the SPDIF Digital port.
I use Focusrite 8i6 Gen 3 soundcard.
I don't know at which resolution Genio's Digital Out can output the highest audio signal? 44.1k with 16 bits or 48k with 24bit?
Can someone who knows me give me the answer?
Sincerely thank you!

Hi Snicker,

the Genos "Digital Out" connector outputs a "CD/DAT" (S/P DIF) signal of 44.1 kHz Sampling Rate / 24-bit Resolution. I found this information on page 109 of the Genos Owner's Manual (version g0). Please see also the attached picture.

By the way: The Digital Out LEVEL can be adjusted in "Menu > Utility > Speaker/Connectivity" display.

Best regards,
Chris

Thank you both for the very useful information.
Unfortunately, Genos Digital Out only allows 44.1kHz resolution.
I think it would be better if it was 48kHz

All the samples of the internal memory are on 44.1 kHz, so there is no reason to export on higher frequency. Even if you record on 48 kHz you still get 44.1 kHz, it a matter of the sound source.
