PSR-E Series / Re: Is hte PSR-E363 worth buying in 2024?
« Last post by SciNote on Today at 01:52:59 AM »
Unfortunately, no, the E400 series keyboards still only have 2 style variations.  As for intro and ending, I'm not sure if it just one of each, or two -- one for each variation.  I want to say that they may have the capability of 2 intros/endings, but that this is seldom done.  Maybe someone more knowledgeable about the E400 series styles can weigh in here, but it is definitely only 2 variations.

I downloaded the files, hoping they might work on my Genos2. If not, at least I tried.

I have Grand Orgue loaded on my PC and can use the organ voices that way, but using them on the Genos2 would be even better.

Hi Ray, to use these.Voices on Genos2, download the file "Grand orgue.ppf.zip" via the link in my post above and unzip it on your computer.

Then import the unzipped file "Gramd Orgue.ppf" into the YEM (Yamaha Expansion Manager) program on the computer. Finally install the pack on Genos2. You can use the WiFi method ("Send to Instrument") or the USB stick method ("Save Pack Install File" > connect the stick to Genos2, then use "Menu > Pack Installation").

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Thanks SciNote

However I use song based styles as gig disks so 5 user styles would be hopeless as I would need to add 5 styles play them then delete them and load another 5 styles so even 10 user styles would be a pain to have to do. Do the 400 series have the arranger 3 intro/4 variation/3 endings setup that the 300 series don't have? If not that would also be a no no cos my user styles often use one intro to start and then the other two as middle 8 breaks.  I did have an E373 but sold it as it simply didn't have any player features so fell back on my 13 year old S650 .. Pity as the sounds and weight/size are awesome. I think education series tend to focus on the learning features rather than playing ones especially the 300 and lower which is great for students!!

Make sure your flash drive has a folder labeled “USER FILES,” then load your WAV files onto the flash drive from your PC or another computer. Insert the flash drive before turning on the keyboard. First, select any saved sound. Then press the “Sound/Audio” button twice to retrieve the WAV files from the flash drive on your keyboard. You will play now. Remember: your flash drive MUST be formatted - then add the folder name "USER FILES" BEFORE transferring WAV files to the flash drive.

PSR-E Series / Re: i500 - can i use custom made arpeggios ?
« Last post by pjd on Yesterday at 06:38:41 PM »
Yep, the I500 is like an "Indian-ized" PSR-E473. The "Riyaz" patterns are similar to the E473 "Groove" patterns.

One can load styles, but it isn't possible to load a new Groove/Riyaz or arpeggio.

The arpeggios are the same patterns used and re-used by Yamaha forever.

There's only so much that can be done with an entry-level Yamaha keyboard -- pj

You can record the arp and save it as a MIDI song file and convert it to a Multi Pad using PadMaker-Midi

Joe H

I think that is impossible; PSR-1500 and PSR-E463 are alike and you can't simply add a multipad with notes written in it. Thus both keyboards don't have these functions

Yamaha Keyboards - General / Re: Which Keyboard For Mp3?
« Last post by pjd on Yesterday at 06:23:15 PM »
No simple answer. What is your budget?

SX700/SX900 and Genos can play MP3 directly from a USB flash drive. Other solutions play back digital audio through the USB audio interface function, if implemented.

Plus, one can playback audio through an AUX INPUT, if implemented.

Take care -- pj
