DSP Effect parameters stored in registration?
« on: April 10, 2024, 04:10:57 PM »
Does someone know if changed DSP effect parameters are now stored into the registration ?

(It would be a great improvement and will avoid having to create user effects. The number of user banks is limited)

Regards
Soundphase.

Yes, they are. This came in on PSR / Genos produced after Tyros 5, so from S770 / S970 onwards. I agree it is a huge benefit, allowing you to save slightly tweaked effect parameters.

On Genos 1, I think parameters were not saved.
Dsp choice was saved but not the new parameter values if you changed the default ones.

I’m not 100% sure.

I am certain that the Genos1 does save the DSP parameters in the registrations.

Hi Soundphase,

The data lists of Genos1 and Genos2 both say that the Effect Parameters can be memorized in Registrations as follows:

• Insertion Effects 1 - 19: memorized with Voice checkbox

• Insertion Effect 20 (Mic): memorized with Vocal Harmony/Mic Setting checkbox

• Insertion Effects 21 - 28 (Style parts), Variation Effect, Reverb and Chorus: Effect Parameters CANNOT be memorized in Registrations

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Only the last in the chain of your custom parameters is saved in registration.
THE ORDER of the DSPs and which ones they are is saved, but only the last one settings in the registration is saved. (If you stack several ones on a single channel)
It is still necessary to save custom settings in user and 30 are not enough.
Personally, I sometimes use up to 6 insert DSP on a single channel. (Example in Right 1)
Genos 2, Korg PA5X, Ketron EventX, Nord PedalKeys27

Thank you. I'm surprised with Genos1, but I was certainly wrong. I don't often change the default effect parameters.
