Topic: Marcos Mendez Registrations

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has tried the registrations from Marco Mendez.
He has a site called "Sound Like A Pro Now" where he has some "freebie" registrations.
Curious as to whether anyone has tried these out.

By the way, the "Freebies" link on Marco Mendez's website leads directly to a Dropbox folder in which there are, among other things, free registration files and MIDI files for Genos, Tyros4 and Tyros5 as well as sheet music for certain songs.

Hi Dom,

The MIDI files should also play on the SX700. But note that Registration Bank files (.rgt) are always keyboard-specific and only work on the direct successor models (e.g. Tyros4 > Tyros5 > Genos1 > Genos2). As far as I know, T4, T5 or Genos Registrations do NOT work on PSR-SX models.

However, you could use Murray Best's Yamaha Registration Manager (YRM) to convert the Registration Bank files to SX700 format. Then they should at least be able to load on your SX700. However, manual changes (voices / style / effects) may still have to be made directly on the SX700.

Please note, in order to be compatible with Genos1 and SX Registration Bank files, you need at least YRM version 5.3.

For the sake of completeness: YRM V5.4 is required for Genos2 compatibility. This new version can only be received upon direct request from Murray Best.)
