Updating operating system
« on: February 10, 2023, 09:00:42 AM »
I have just acquired a Genos. Operating system is shown as 1.02 so definitely needs updating! I've downloaded the 2.13 update and the GENOSSETUP.PRG is in the root of a USB stick ready to go. Can I update directly from 1.02 to 2.13 or is there an intermediate step to do, like updating to 2.0 first?
It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Hi Andy,

You can update directly to the current version 2.13.

Best regards,
Chris

Thanks! I'm going to reset everything, update the O/S and then look at getting some expansion packs. Nice job for the weekend before it gets down to business, being used for teaching each day (and thoroughly explored, recorded, videoed and all the other things I'm looking forward to!)  :)

You can get all the Genos expansion packs from the main Yamaha website now, much easier than it used to be

Hi Andy,

In addition to what DerekA posted:

There are many other interesting downloads, like Bonus packs, Genos V2 Superior pack (a must have!), Playlists (Yamaha playlist discover Genos is nice to have!),  PSR and SX styles for Genos and much more, see:

Enjoy!

BTW Andy,

All those Yamaha Expansion packs are free of charge.
You will need Yamaha Expansion Manager (version 2.9) to install them on your Genos.

Make sure your keyboard has been updated to Version 2 This will give you chord looper and an extra 1Gb of flash memory. If when you have downloaded and installed
YEM it is only showing 2 Gb then you need to update so that it shows 3Gb.
