Controlling A Style With MIDI Chords From Cubase
« on: April 25, 2022, 01:09:57 AM »
Posting this in case anyone is curious how I made it work. All images and files referenced are in the zip file linked at the bottom of this post:

You need to set up the Cubase transport up properly. See cubase_clock_sync.png.

The zip file contains the Cubase project. The upper MIDI track contains the chords. The lower track contains the MIDI output from the Genos when those chords were played through the style.

You need to set up a MIDI template on the Genos as specified in the four .bmp files. There does not seem to be a way to export a MIDI template to a file from the Genos.

The style I used is referenced in the included registration file

I did this with the Beach Boys song, Don't Worry Baby.

To have Cubase play the song through the Genos, hit the SYNC START button on the Genos and then hit the space bar on your PC to start playing from Cubase.
