My keys are dead on the first couple of octaves on my Genos, is this a software problem, our is it a hardware issue??

Iff before the split it could be :
ACMP button "ON" and in "Style Settings" "Stop ACMP" > "OFF" : then it is normal.

You can try connecting the Genos to a computer, using midi, and look in the computer, if the keys that you press on the genos, "plays" on the pc
Looks like more a configuration issue, but...

Brian,
Check your split points if they are in order, then check to make sure an instrument is selected and in the mixer make sure the volume is correct for left hand.
