Price decrease S670/S770/S970
« on: November 21, 2017, 11:23:23 PM »
One of our famous Yamaha Dealers in The Netherlands, Oostendorp, just announced a very important S670/770/790 price decrease.

Does that mean Yamaha will launch S670, S770 and S970 successors much sooner than we might expect ?

Is it Yamaha's intention to offer the market better alternatives than the successful Korg PA700 and PA1000 ?  ::)

NDA might be a problem to get answers from your local dealer. :'(

My guess it's just that time of year again :)

People start to spend money on expensive gifts for "Sinterklaas"and "Christmas" so why not make it extra attractive :p

And why not?

I see a 10% discount for the S970 which is exactly the same percentage they give on some other stuff there (see the advertising picture with Saint Nicholas....) I still think it's just a (normal) discount ment for the upcoming holidays Jeff. It's way too soon for Yamaha if you ask me. Launching a new spin-off arranger that fast would be like shooting yourself in the foot :)

You might be right, Peter but I should not be surprised the new S-serie would be available early 2018.
Time will tell.

Here's hoping Jeff!

I will probably skip Genos and go for the S770 successor, if there is one, when it arrives. So the sooner the better!

Hi,

1678E for S970 (-18%) it is the normal price everywhere except few dealers, which increase the price few mounts ago to almost 2000E (Yamaha policy). Probably no one buy at this new increased price.

Hi,
The psr s 970 can be bought for £1350 in the UK . I can't remember it ever being as low as that.

Jeff, I would not expect to see any upgrades from the current S series until October of 2018 at the earliest. At least that's the way it has been here in the states for decades.

Hi,
I think that it may not be a case of a new keyboard coming out that drops prices, it might well be because the UK is in real financial difficulties. They think for the next five years at least it will be no better. If it's going to be a case of feeding your family or buying a new keyboard, shops will have to lower their margins.
