If you look on their premium pack site there are several existing Tyros 5 packs that they list as Genos "compatible" while their conversion doc is still showing them scheduled for Genos conversion in the coming months. Has anyone tried these Tyros 5 packs on a Genos? An example would be the Latin pack.

*Update*

I installed the Tyros 5 Latin pack and tested all voices and styles. They all seem to work as expected. This is one of the T5 packs listed as compatible with the Genos without conversion. I know it's listed for conversion but the current one does work.

I think that all T5 expansion packs should be compatible with Genos, because Genos is a T5++(Genos has a complete T5 inside plus much more new stuff) and is designed to be backwards compatible.
Yamaha Genos (finally)

How do you manage to retrieve your previously purchased packs. I have tried several times to get the Celtic and Country Musician packs but each time I get to checkout and it wants to charge my card (no zeroing of bottom line price). I am logging in and clicking on re order on the packs in my account.

Hey folks,

I had that full price problem when I tried to order the Genos, Best of Europe pack. Other Genos packs I could order for free. Call Yamaha MusicSoft support (1-866-430-2652 in USA) or email them. They should be able to clear up the problem.

Also, you can use most Tyros packs. If you do not still see your Tyros packs in the YEM program, reload them into YEM from downloaded packs or redownload them. Most will work on Genos as on the Tyros but some have missing content, mainly missing voices.

I thought maybe the reason working packs were on the conversion schedule was so they could be tuned with Genos features.

I remain puzzled by MusicSoft adding the three Tyros5 packs with the Genos selections. Why only those three?

I called Yamahasoft yesterday, and none of my 7 premium packs were ready for Genos yet..Mega - enhancer program only seems to be available for PC, not Mac.. According to Yamahasoft specialist yesterday, none of the SA2 products were ready yet, Vintage keyboard, choir & Vocals...

I find a bit disappointing.. It's like selling you a brand new car, and then telling you you're gonna have to wait for the windshield wipers, radio, and heater..  Yes, Genos is perfectly fine to work now.  and in reality, I have much to learn about it,  so  waiting for the SA2 additional premium products is not a real issue..

I certainly do not appreciate how, Yamaha seems to 'forget' Mac Users when it comes to additional software for their products, of favor Cubase (which they own) over other DAWs.

But the reality is Yamaha is probably one of the most 'user dedicated' companies..  Most other top hardware, software, seem more interested in getting your money, and then not caring about you..  But on the other hand,  The Tyros line, and future Genos line, I will have buy the newest version as soon as it comes out..  It's because the quality and excellence of the product keeps improving..

The beauty of the Tyros line was, you already knew 90% of the new Tyros..  The Genos, of course is totally obviously built on the Tyros line.  So these new changes are good..in that they most likely

The existing vintage keyboard pack for the T5 works fine on the Genos.

I had the same problem.  I emailed and they responded within a few hours and then manually updated my MusicSoft account so that they were downloadable at no charge.  Excellent customer service.
Yamaha Genos, Nord Stage 3, Kurzweil SP6.

Hi Mike, I have received an Email from Yamaha in response to my mine to them, telling me that the 2 of my packs that are Genos converted have been made manually available to download . I have just gone back into my account and tried to download again without success.

I was under the impression that you could re-load previous purchased packs at any time via your account, but the only way I can see to download is by clicking re-order, which wants to set up payment.

Did you have success getting your packs? if so how did you download and how can you tell if they are Genos converted ?

Cheers
Terry

Well folks,

Yamaha MusicSoft has added more Tyros version packs to the Genos selections. One of these is the Vintage Synth pack. I have this pack and in the YEM program, 13 of the 50 voices are unselectable, so are not part of the install pack made for the Genos. So then the 13 are missing on the Genos which also leads to missing voices in the OTS settings.

Would MusicSoft recommend the T5 version if it works like that? Is my data flawed? Does anyone else have this condition?

Hey folks,

Person at MusicSoft said some Tyros5 versions of packs have problems on Genos. He did not have access to YEM to confirm my problem, but said I should wait for the Genos version, December for the Vintage Synth pack. I have found most of the Tyros5 packs I have loaded in the Genos have no problems. So I have loaded them till the Genos versions are available.

A remark:
When you (all of you) import packs from Tyros 5 packs into YEM for uploading to Genos, when select Genos, please wait till searching progressbar from right-up corner stabilizes. In that moment YEM is able to tell you which content selected is prepared (in right format) for uploading to Genos.
Initially, it will select all content from a pack, but when that green progress bar stabilizes, it will uncheck the content that not fit in Genos.

This is how YEM works, practically it scan all content from installation folder on PC and make a validity of data for selected instrument.

Regards.

StuartR,

The pack that had missing voices, when trying to load on the Genos was the T5 Vintage Synth pack, not the T5 Vintage Keyboard pack.
