PSR will not show file name
« on: September 17, 2017, 03:46:03 PM »
Hello! Can anyone tell my what is wrong? I made a song file om my PSR 2100, copied it to a floppy disk, and copied my file to my computer. When I put the floppy back in the keyboard, nothing shows on the screen. The file is there, I can hear the keyboard loading it, but the screen is blank. I did not change the file name or anything. I did the same with a style file. That showed up om the keyboard all right. What is this??? I did nothing to the file except put the floppy in the computer to copy it. Since the keyboard memory is full, I must be able to do this!!! Please help.

From the PSR FAQ:

F.56.  Why instruments do not display some files

The length of the filename must be under 42 characters for it to be displayed.

I'm sure that you will have checked this already, but when you looked for the song, did you have the SONG Open/Play screen open?

Other Open/Play screens such as STYLE or VOICE will not list songs.

Hello Tyrosaurus! That was exactly what I did wrong. Thank you.  I just put the disk in the keyboard, went to User, selected floppy, and only saw the stylefile, not the song. When I did as you suggested, the song showed and could be played. Problem solved :) Excuse me for being so clumsy when it comes to menus on the keyboard :)
