Tempo setting for Argentine Tango please
« on: October 22, 2017, 03:13:24 AM »
Hi all,
I have been asked to play an Argentine Tango for a dance group, What tempo should I set my Tango style? Also any song ideas.
Cheers
John. :)

Hi John,

I have some Arg. Tangos in my collection, I always play them with Temp.  120!

I believe, this would be suitable!

Greetings

Eli

I would think the tempo will vary with each song.

If you play the desired tango in mp3 you can then use free software like this:  "Digital Music Mentor'   It will tell you the tempo in BPM as well as the key (free version) the paid version will also give the chords.   There is also Riffstation software.

Hope this helps.

Tango's are played in different tempi. Official between 112-136.
