Hi David,

The 'new' Yamaha Support website is a complete mess!  :'( >:(   You used to be able to easily find a single 'Assets List' for each keyboard model, listing all manuals, files etc., but not any more!

Here is a link to the version supplied to the UK (I had to use Search to find it!) ...

https://uk.yamaha.com/en/support/updates/65199_EN.html

Hi David,

I have just downloaded the S770 MFD file from the link that I provided and can confirm that it is the full version containing 1100 records.

I assume that you have unintentionally loaded the sample version of the MFD that is in the Preset folder of the keyboard.

The download is in the form of a 'ZIP' archive so you need to extract (unzip) it first.  The unzipped file is called 'PSR-S770_MFW.mfd' and is around 99 KB in size.

Make sure that you copy this to your USB device and connect this to the keyboard.

When you open the selection screen to select the file, it will open on the 'PRESET' drive tab showing the sample MFD which on my T4 is called 'MusicFinderPreset' so should be something similar on your 770.

Tab to 'USB1' and find/select the correct file that you want to load.

The keyboard will ask you if you want to 'Replace' the existing records in the MF with the new ones, or 'Append' them which will add the new records to the existing ones.   I don't know if the sample 123 records are included in the full MFD, but even if they are, it won't hurt if you select 'Append'.

Thanks, Ian.  I used your link to add that S770 MFD file to our Music Finder Database  page, which has MFDs for many of the keyboards.  I also was able to get the CVP709 MFD but did not see any listed for the S970.  I assume the S770 version will work as well on the S970.

Thanks, also for the detailed description on loading a new MFD. For those who are not aware of it, we have a whole set of lessons on Music Finder in the main site. Most of that info is still correct, I assume, for the S970 and S770.

Hi Joe,

Here is a link to the S970 MFD on the Yamaha UK site:

PSR-S970: https://uk.yamaha.com/en/support/updates/65198_EN.html  (contains 1594 records, 494 more than S770)

I found it by typing 'PSR-S970 MFD' into the 'search' function which is accessed from the magnifying glass icon on the right side of the top line of each page.   I assume that this is the same on the US site.  The MFDs are supposed to be region specific, so they may be different from the UK and US sites.  I haven't checked to see.
