Do I go to tyros
« on: October 15, 2016, 09:10:59 AM »
Ok I have a psr 9000 ( old I know) but with limited funds do I sell it and pick up a tyros 1 or stick with the psr9000.

Weight isn't an issue to me.

Is it really better than the psr9000? Other than the megavoice technology?

It's definitely better than a 9000.

But I would buy a 970 unless there was a specific feature of the Tyros that you need.

Only reason umming and ahhing is the sampler on the 9000. And my budget will never stretch to a tyros 3 onwards.

Im guessing you can load your own waveforms onto the tyros like you can on the 9000

Hi simondhopkins,

Tyros1 does NOT contain a Sampler. Custom Voices on Tyros1 can only use the internal ("built-in")  Samples.

EXTERNAL Samples you can use on Tyros2/3/4/5 and PSR-S670/770/970 models.

The maximal sizes of Expansion Memory are:

Tyros2/3: 1 GB (optional)
Tyros4/5: 2 GB (optional)
PSR-S670: 32 MB (fixed)
PSR-S770: 160 MB (fixed)
PSR-S970: 512 MB (fixed)

Regards,
Chris

Thanks for that.

Has helped me make a more informed choice.
